Jann Mardenborough was born in England on 9 September 1991. He is the son of Steve and Lesley Mardenborough. His father used to play football professionally. Jann has a younger sibling named Coby and was raised in Cardiff.
When he was five or six years old, he had an early interest in cars and began to dream of being a professional racer. When he was eight years old, his friend Gran Turismo on the original PlayStation inspired his interest in racing video games. He enrolled in a university in 2010 to study racing engineering, but he left after just three weeks.
He came onto a Gran Turismo 5 online time trial for the GT Academy competition. He qualified in the top 20 in his region after giving the time trial his all, during which over 90,000 individuals competed. In a 20-minute race using actual Nissan 370Z sports cars, Mardenborough won as the GT Academy champion, winning by eight seconds.

Professional Career
Early Years in Racing:
