After their Los Angeles house was damaged by wildfires, Billy Crystal and his wife, Janice, have had a challenging time. After 55 years of marriage, the couple lived together for 46 years, raising their kids and grandkids there. It has been helpless, but family provides help keeps them going, Crystal claimed.
He continued to crack jokes at a current gala event despite the tragedy. He provided hope and invested tribute to his pal Jimmy Kimmel. The event indicated the strength of solidarity and resiliency while facilitating research for brain disorders.
Bill Crystal Lose his Home
Two months before, the 76-year-old actor Billy Crystal and his wife, Janice Crystal, lost their residency in Los Angeles because of the destructive wildfire that destroyed the region.
Crystal addressed PEOPLE exclusively at Keep Memory Alive's The Power of Love Gala on February 22: "It's a loaded life right now for us." "In June, we will celebrate 55 years of wedding. After all our difficulties, this is the hardest thing you could ever imagine."
"We're doing fine because our daughters have been stunning, our family is extremely supportive, and you continue to move forward daily," he claimed.
Crystal's Family Faces Tragedy
In an earlier declaration to PEOPLE, Crystal accepted that his Pacific Palisades home was destroyed by fire on January 8. He and his life partner resided there for forty-six years, increasing their children and grandchildren. The couple wed in 1970 and have two daughters: Lindsay Crystal and Jennifer Crystal Foley.
"The extent of the damage we see and feel is beyond words. In his statement at the time, Crystal claimed, "We are helpless for our friends and neighbours who have also suffered from losing their homes and businesses in this tragedy."
"Love pervaded every square inch of our home. Many lovely memories are lasting. We are homeless, but we will fight this with the support of our friends and kids," he said. He then stated that he and his family were "praying for the security of the firefighters and first responders," who eventually controlled the fires.
Crystal Attends Charity Gala
Crystal maintained to discover some humour when joining the Power of Love Gala in Las Vegas, which occurred in honor of his friend Jimmy Kimmel.
"They're like a gang of golden retrievers seeking the ball you didn't throw," the When Harry Met Sally star claimed, slamming the late-night talk show host and his family while they were sitting there. The type of people who instantly dial 911 right away after suffering for the "got your nose" prank.
"It truly takes a lot of time, so I'm pleased to be here and talk about Jimmy for a little while," Crystal stated.
"A celebration of compassion, hope, and the collective power to develop lasting change," the gala is "a critical foundation of Keep Memory Alive's mission to fight brain diseases," according to the company's website.
