Byron Allen Sold Manhattan’s 220 Central Park South Condo

Today’s celebrity news is full of twists and turns. It reveals that media tycoon Byron Allen has sold the full-floor condominium of the luxury tower 220 Central Park South in Manhattan. The move progressed to an off-market deal, leaving the buyer’s identity unknown.

However, the transaction allowed Allen to win a significant real estate deal worth $82.5 million. Interestingly, Allen bought the unit in 2023 after spending $75 million. It proved to be a great deal that has further contributed to Byron Allen’s impressive real estate money-making strategy.

Media Tycoon Sold NYC Condo

Byron Allen sold his entire floor at Manhattan’s 220 Central Park South. News revealed that the deal benefited Byron by $82.5 million. Moreover, the transaction is also considered profitable compared to the media mogul's purchasing price, which was $75 million for a unit in 2023.

Earlier, hedge funder Ken Griffin made the deal at the under-observed building. However, the transaction was reversed, which means Ken Griffin purchased the unit instead of selling it for $238 million.

Those interested in real estate investment had no idea about Byron’s selling deal because it proceeded off-market and had never been listed for sale on official terms. The move also put the buyer’s identity behind the curtain.

Information about the apartment covers 6,600 square feet of living area and contains five bedrooms. The entire floor was considered part of the 220 Central Park South skyscraper on Billionaires’ Row, drawing interest from purchasers such as Alibaba co-founder Joseph Tsai and hedge funder Ken Griffin.

Sale Dealing

The Corcoran Group looked after Byron Allen, who sold his full-floor condominium. It represented both seller and buyer. However, news also reveals that Deborah Kern, Allen's agent, has not yet commented on the agreement.

The Most Expensive Condo Tower in the U.S.

You must not know, but the 220 Central Park South is known for the costliest condo tower in the United States. Robert A.M. Stern Architects designed the 18-villa and 17-story skyscraper tower. Looking at the outer details, the physical appearance of Alabama Silver Shadow limestone gives the building a luxurious feel.

It is not wrong to say that the priciest tower contains world-class facilities for its residents. It includes an athletic club, a rock-climbing wall, a swimming pool, and a private restaurant. This tower is in the eyes of many billionaires regarding selling or buying compared to other towers on Billionaires’ Row.
