Cardi B Wins $1.2 Million Bankruptcy Deal Against Tasha K

Cardi B, the famous rapper, is getting the money she owed to podcaster and blogger Tasha K in a defamation case. A court judge announced a decision regarding the 1.2 million-dollar settlement on Monday. According to it, Tasha K must pay Cardi B money over the course of five years. This indicates that Tasha’s financial problems did not end; instead, they only encountered a temporary pause.

Tasha K will pay $1.2 million to Cardi B

Latasha Kebe, famously known as Tasha K, is a well-known blogger, podcaster, and YouTuber. Recently, news revealed that Tasha has agreed to pay $1.2 million to one of America’s best rappers, Cardi B.

Both media personalities have settled along with the help of a judge who approved the statement of the pay-out deal on Monday. According to it, Tasha K will give $1.2 million to Cardi B in the following five years as part of her Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization.

You must know that the agreement came forth as a result of the $4 million defamation decision. Three years ago, Cardi B won the judgment against Tasha. Undoubtedly, the present settlement has imposed several legal and financial conditions on Tasha K.

A Scheduled Settlement Plan

As mentioned earlier, Tasha K will pay the amount in five years. But the highlight is that the payment will go from Tasha’s account to Cardi’s every month. Belcalis Marlenis Cephus, popularly known as Cardi, will be the priority creditor in the same way as the IRS.

The first year’s money segment will be $176,532, and it will increase to up to $318,653 in the last year. With this decision, Cardi B can also use her right to claim the remaining $4 million as soon as the five-year time frame ends.

Throughout following the settlement plan, Miss Kebe must remain within legal boundaries. She must avoid derogatory, disparaging, and defamatory statements about Cardi B and her family. Tasha Kebe will also follow the restrictions on social media, including websites and podcasts, such as Tasha K Live and The Wine Cellar.

Cardi B’s Judge Response on Settlement

Lisa Moore, whom you can call the rapper’s judge, has expressed contentment regarding the judgment. She said that the settlement plan is the end of the legal battle. In her interview with Rolling Stone, Moore stated, “Today marks the end of a multi-year-long chapter of lies, deception, and fraudulent conveyance on the part of Tasha K, her husband, and their entities.”

Miss Moore also rejected the idea of Kebe’s legal team presenting the result as their victory. She said, “While Kebe and her counsel may try to spin this as a win, trust me—it’s not.”

How did the Legal Battle begin?

The history goes back to 2019 when Cardi B filed a defamation court case against Tasha K. She accused the blogger of making false claims of using cocaine, working as a prostitute, and having herpes. Cardi B was present in the court for testing. She expressed that these allegations made her patient of anxiety, depression, and emotional distress.

Kebe’s Present Financial Situation

You must know that the latest payment plan has been designed considering Kebe’s present financial situation. It is based on her future earnings and her husband’s earnings from his company, Yelen Entertainment.

The earlier bankruptcy document highlights that Kebe did not show her net worth as it was. Instead, she claimed her annual revenue was less than $59,000, which includes her asset, a 2021 Chevy Silverado.

At this moment, Kebe’s judge, Chad Van Horn, has called this plan a crucial step in financial recovery. He stated, “By reaching this agreement, all parties can avoid prolonged litigation—fulfilling bankruptcy’s essential purpose.”
