Dr Laura Schlessinger Sells Her Santa Barbara Compound

Dr. Laura Schlessinger, popularly known as radio host Dr. Laura, is currently hosting a live call-in show on SiriusXM. She has decided to sell her luxurious and expansive Santa Barbara compound to buy a smaller one from the sale price. She finds herself emotionally attached to her home, where she has lived and worked 20 years of her life. She has listed her home for an asking price of $23 million.

Insights into Dr Laura Schlessinger’s Luxurious Santa Barbara Compound

In 2005, Dr. Laura bought her house with her late husband, Lewis Bishop, for $6.1 million. This is an ocean-facing compound with an area spread over almost four acres with the following features:

  • 8,788 square feet of living space
  • 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms
  • A leading house, guesthouse, and private apartment
  • Tennis and pickleball courts
  • A pool and spa
  • A koi pond
  • A walking trail surrounding the property

Radio Broadcasting Facility in the House

As a recognised radio host, it's hardly surprising that Dr. Laura’s house is graced with a radio broadcasting facility. Dr Laura started her radio hosting journey from her Santa Barbara home and has been hosting her beloved radio show from the comfort of her lavish home for years now.

"During commercial breaks, I'm staring at ships going by, it's very relaxing." Dr. Laura said.

Reason Behind Home Selling

Dr. Laura has decided to move into a smaller compound in Santa Barbara, so she is selling her splendid oceanside home. She plans to use the money from the sale to finance her passion for sailing and take her crew to Europe for races, something she can't afford to do while in her current residence.
