Early Life

Rachael Ray was born in Glens Falls. James Claude Ray and Elsa Providenza Scuderi were Rachael Ray's parents. Her father is of French, Scottish, and Welsh descent, while her mother is of Sicilian descent.

Ray's family moved to Lake George, New York when she was eight years old. In the Capital District of New York, her mother managed many restaurants, including the popular entertainer-attracting Lake George Howard Johnson's restaurant close to the former Gaslight Village amusement park.
