Early Life

Parker was born in Conifer, Colorado. His mother, Sharon, was a saleswoman, and his father, Randolph Randy Parker II, was a geologist. Parker has an older sister.  As a shy youngster, he attended honors classes and got satisfactory grades. When Parker was younger, he had a passion for music and movies.

He adored Monty Python since third grade. The school called his parents because of the quantity of fake blood in the sketch, and the kindergarteners were all crying because of the blood.  At the age of 14, Parker began producing short films.

Later in his teenage years, he recorded the comedy album with David Goodman, "Immature: A Collection of Love Ballads For The '80's Man", because he was interested in pursuing a career in music. By the time Parker reached his senior year at Evergreen High School, he had a leading role in all the plays and was the head of the band.

He enrolled at Berklee College of Music after graduating in 1988 but left after one semester to move to the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he eventually ran into Matt Stone in a film class.

Career

Together with Jason McHugh and Ian Hardin, Parker and Stone established the Avenging Conscience production business in 1992. Together, they produced the short film "Jesus vs. Frosty". Parker devoted himself fully to the film Alferd Packer: The Musical and contributed as a writer, actor, producer, composer, and director.

The film was then renamed as Cannibal! The Musical and tells Alferd Packer's story. In Hollywood, Parker and Stone obtained representation from an agency, a lawyer, and a screenplay deal, but they struggled for the next three years.

In 1997, Trey worked as a writer, director and producer on the movie Orgazmo, which was then premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival the same year. Producing "Jesus vs. Frosty," producer Brian Graden requested Parker and Stone to make a video greeting card that he could send to his friends.

The resulting creation, "Jesus vs. Santa," caught the attention of Comedy Central executive Doug Herzog, who suggested that they should turn it into a series. They spent $300,000 to create the program, and thanks to Comedy Central's promotion, the network sold around $30 million worth of t-shirts before the show even aired.

In 2002, Trey and Matt worked together and co-produced and wrote the film named as Team America: World Police. It is a puppet film rated as R. Park composed most of the songs of this movie. He also worked as the director of this movie.

According to Trey and Matt, team America was one of the hardest projects they have done. Trey Parker movies were always hit. While filming "Team America," Matt and Trey collaborated on "The Book of Mormon" with the writer and composer Robert Lopez, who was also involved in the creation of "Avenue Q."

With Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells in the lead roles, the musical debuted on Broadway on March 24, 2011, and won 14 Tony nominations. Parker and Stone declared in 2013 that they were going to open a production studio.
