Venus Williams Net Worth 2024

Venus Williams net worth is estimated at $95 million. On the court, Venus had made $38 million by the end of 2017. That was sufficient to tie with Maria Sharapova ($36.5 million) and place her behind sister Serena Williams ($85 million) as the highest-paid female tennis player of all time.

Her career earnings are expected to reach over $42 million by March 2022. Venus earned between $5 and $10 million a year from sponsorships during the height of her career off the court.

Personal Life

Williams had relationships with golfer Hank Kuehne, who was present during Wimbledon in 2007 and again in 2010. Elio Pis, a Cuban model, was employed by her clothing brand in 2012, and the two got together and dated until 2015. Before 2019, she dated Nicholas Hammond, the publishing heir, for two years.

Williams was travelling in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on June 9, 2017, when her SUV got hit by another car before she could get out of the way. The second vehicle's owner, a 78-year-old man, was hurt in the collision. Williams was initially considered to be "at fault" for the crash, but on December 21, 2017, officials discovered that an unknown third driver was actually to blame.

Early Life

Venus Williams' abilities were first seen when she was seven years old by Tony Chesta, a professional tennis player in the area, who saw her potential for the game.

When Serena was thirteen, the Williams family relocated to West Florida from California so that she could attend Rick Macci's tennis program. Macci noticed the sisters and offered to give them extra coaching.

At that point, Williams had reached No. 1 among Southern California's under-12 players and had a perfect 63-0 record on the USTA junior circuit. Venus Williams dad took over all of their home coaching after removing his girls from Macci's program in 1995.

Professional Career

At the age of 14, Williams began his professional career on October 31, 1994. Venus faced off against former NCAA singles champion Shaun Stafford in the opening round of her first professional competition. Earlier in the year, Stafford had advanced to the fourth round of the French Open.

In 1997, Williams participated in 15 tour events, five of which were Tier I competitions. In three of the Tier I competitions, she advanced to the quarterfinals: the Moscow Kremlin Cup, the European Championships in Zürich, and the State Farm Cup in California.

In the Venus Williams sisters' first-ever professional match, Venus beat her younger sister Serena in the 2nd round of the Australian Open. Ultimately, Williams fell to No. 3 Davenport in the quarterfinals.

Williams proceeded to the Wimbledon quarterfinals for the second year in a row by defeating No. 17 Anna Kournikova in the 4th round. There, she was upset by eventual runner-up Graf.

Venus won 6 tournaments and 35 straight singles matches. Wimbledon was the site of her maiden Grand Slam singles victory. During the summer hardcourt season in North America, she took home three Tier II victories.

World Tennis Team

After making her World Team Tennis appearance in 2000 with the St. Louis Aces, Williams went on to play 14 seasons, including a season in 2005 with the Delaware Smash, 3 seasons in 2006–2008 with the Philadelphia Freedoms, and 8 seasons in 2010–2015 and 2017–2019 with the Washington Kastles.

She won her first King Trophy in 2006 with the Freedoms and four more with the Kastles in 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015. In total, she has five King Trophies. For her performance, she was chosen as the MVP of the 2012 WTT Final.
